I know it’s frustrating talking to people on the left. I experience it every single day. And I know that when we look at democratic politicians, we see people who are doing evil. But as Christian conservatives, we must understand that those people are not our enemy. No, our real enemy is far more evil and vile. Take a look at the following versus and understand exactly what it is that God wants us to know about who are real enemy is.
“10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17
This passage from Ephesians makes it quite clear that our enemy is not human beings. Human beings are taken captive, by rulers, authorities, and powers of the dark world. These are spiritual forces of evil who operate out of the heavenly realms, affecting life here on earth. We must understand that our battle is a spiritual battle at its core. And that spiritual battle is won in the spiritual realms through prayer and the other weapons of spiritual warfare.
“3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
This passage from second Corinthians shows that we do not wage war the way the world does. Politics is won in the spiritual realm as hearts and minds are changed. That’s why we demolish these mental strongholds of Satan, in the minds of people who follow the ways of the world. We take them captive and make those thoughts obedient to Christ through spiritual warfare.
Question: Are you doing what you should as a Conservative Christian? Are you praying and doing spiritual warfare? It is time for Christians to stand up and fight… in the spiritual realm where the real war wages.
