It’s been a lot of apoplectic screaming from conservatives and particularly conservative Christians about ChatGPT. Unfortunately, it is obvious that they haven’t done the research about what it really is and how it really works. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence engine. It basically does when its told to do. Let me give you an example. Note below that I asked chat GPT to write two different bios of Donald Trump. One from a liberal perspective and one from a Trump supporter perspective. Take a look at the picture below.
Now note what it wrote when I asked it to write about the inerrancy of the scriptures:
Now see what it wrote when asked to make the case for capitalism:
Lastly, please note what it wrote about Republicans and minority communities:
In the end, ChatGPT does what you tell it to do as I have demonstrated here. ChatGPT is a powerful tool when used correctly. Like any tool, say a hammer for instance, it can be used for good or bad. You can build a house with a hammer or you can kill someone with a hammer. It isn’t the tool’s fault but the one who weilds it.
