One of the most overlooked parts of revival is also one of the most essential—repentance.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) God says:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Revival doesn’t come without a turning. We can’t cling to sin and expect to experience the fullness of God’s presence. To see revival, both personally and nationally, we must let go of what holds us back and run toward the God who heals and forgives.
Repentance is not about shame—it’s about freedom. It’s choosing God’s way over our way. And when God’s people do that, the result is always renewal, restoration, and revival.
