The 2025 Oscar winner for best picture is pure and utter filth. That this movie, Anora, was selected is a testament to how far Hollywood has fallen. Happily, for the the first time in 50 years, I did not watch the Oscars and will not do so again until sanity, if ever, is restored. Here is my brief review from December:
Anora – a Golden Globes nominee, features no one who will have an enduring film career. I was disgusted for most of it and concluded that here is movie which should never have been made. Don’t bother reading reviews; no matter how many awards it gets, the movie is meaningless and pointless.
In summary, it is the most consistently foul-mouthed film that you can imagine, with unending, tasteless, graphic sex scenes. It is perhaps one degree better than a porn film. Combined with the Superbowl half-time show, America’s utter depravity is on full display to the world.
