Resolutions are empty proclamation and are valueless unless you take steps to ensure progress. Here are some ideas:
[ ] Post your resolutions on your bathroom mirror or wherever you’ll automatically notice them as you start each day. Remember, you are not your past – it’s a new year, and there can be a new you.
[ ] Work at each resolution or goal a little at a time. The more challenging the resolution, the more important it is for you to approach it methodically. Don’t try to accomplish it all at once.
[ ] Share your resolutions with others and elicit their support.
[ ] Join others who have similar resolutions or goals.
[ ] Condition your environment – surround yourself with whatever supports your goals.
[ ] When you feel stuck, remind yourself of what you want. When I find myself straying from my course, I often say, “Okay, Jeff, you said you wanted to accomplish this, didn’t you?”
