Tucker: What is going on here?

Most people don’t hate Kevin McCarthy as a man. But most normal people do hate the system that keeps promoting Kevin McCarthy for turning in a subpar performance.

It’s old news from Friday, but here’s Tucker looking at media reaction to McCarthy’s totally appropriate difficulty being elected House speaker. They don’t seem to get why the process should be difficult. He HAS finally been elected Speaker, but thankfully not without having to make several important concessions.

Highlights include:

“Kevin McCarthy’s just lost the eleventh round trying to be Speaker, and it’s funny how we’re supposed to feel about this. We’re all supposed to be highly upset, outraged, appalled, on the verge of tears, about the fact that some of his colleagues are trying to make it hard for Kevin McCarthy to become the Speaker of the House.”

“But why is it so upsetting? It should be hard to become Speaker of the House in this country, very hard. It’s a big job, it’s one of the most powerful jobs in the world. It’s not one of those positions you give to elderly men who have campaigned from their basement. If you want to be the guy who’s second in line for the presidency in America, you’ve gotta work for it.”

“So, again, what you’re seeing here is the usual left/right ideological politics at work, but that is not all that is going on, because actually, most politicians are not very ideological, even the ones who claim to be. They wouldn’t know an idea if it got into the shower with them. In fact, a lot of them are agnostic about ideas. But the one thing that every politician has in common, every one of them, is every one of them wants to win elections, that’s the goal. And honestly, by that measure, Kevin McCarthy has underwhelmed.”

“The same team that was in place two months ago. How does that work exactly? If I’m a valet parker and I crash your car, you don’t give me another car to park until I take a driving lesson, right? Not in Washington. Have another car, a more expensive car this time. Because if there’s one thing Washington hates, on a bipartisan basis, it’s accountability, and unfortunately, the Republican party is no different in that.”

“No one is ever punished for failure or ever forced to explain how those failures happened. And as a result of that lack of accountability, no one ever improves.”

“Republican voters see the same people in charge producing the same mediocre results, paying a lot more attention to lobbyists than to them. That’s not democracy, actually. It’s the opposite of democracy, and watching this drives them insane. It’s a fair bet that most people don’t hate Kevin McCarthy as a man … but most normal people do hate the system that keeps promoting Kevin McCarthy for turning in a subpar performance.”

“By the time he becomes speaker, Kevin McCarthy will have learned a lot. Kevin McCarthy will have publicly acknowledged his failures. He will have been forced to face the people he has disappointed, both within the Congress and outside of it, and he will have promised to change. So, here we will have suffering, accountability, and repentance. Those are not bad things. No, those are the best things. Those are the wrenching life experiences that turn the mediocre into decent people.”

Pro-abortion pin worn during SOTU address affirms human sacrifice

Take a look at this pin, worn by some congressional democrats, which has replaced the American flag in their lapels.

Tucker fact checks Joe Biden from his State of the Disunion last night. The same lies he’s been telling for as long as he’s been in office. Highlights include:

“Take a look at this pin, which has replaced the American flag in their lapels. Notice that the O in Abortion is in the shape of a heart. They literally ‘love’ abortion. Now, let’s set aside the politics and ask an honest question. Who ‘loves’ abortion? Honestly, who loves abortion? Maybe you think abortion should be legal, but do you love abortion? Do you think abortion is a wonderful, affirming act you feel so proud of you brag about it with jewelry?”

“If you feel that way, you should know that you are not defending a medical procedure, you wouldn’t say that about appendectomy, no. You are promoting an ancient religious rite called Human Sacrifice. Let’s stop lying about it.”

“There are hospitals in the United States, hard as it is to believe, that are right now performing mastectomies on little girls in the name of gender ideology, they’re castrating children, and then giving them drugs that produce sterility and osteoporosis, and they’re bragging about it. Now, this has happened with adults for a long time, it’s never happened at scale with children, and no one’s ever bragged about it, but the Democratic party now is, not just endorsing it, no just supporting it silently.”

“The humor stopped and the darkness descended. Joe Biden proceeded to talk about the recent death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis. Now, you’ll remember that he was killed by five police officers, all of whom were black, as was he. So, the takeaway from that episode, may be worth knowing about, but it has nothing to do with race, at least not directly, everyone was the same color. And yet, last night Joe Biden used that sad episode, with Tyre Nichols’ family present in the room, to advance the lie, the one you hear so often, that the white middle class is the single greatest threat to America, and especially to black people.”

“It’s not a racial issue, but he’s saying that it is. The police, African Americans, are trying to murder you because you’re black, that’s ‘unifying the country’. Police are responsible for all the violence in black communities, that’s the message. Now, that is not only a lie, provably a lie because reliable statistics exist, it’s a lie that’s caused a lot of people, including a lot of black Americans, to die over the last three years because police in many places have stopped enforcing the law, and in others have simply quit, and they were replaced by total mediocrities and crazy violent people like the cops who beat Tyre Nichols to death in Memphis.”

“At one point, Biden claimed that NATO was fighting against Putin’s aggression, even though we now know, thanks to the Israeli Prime Minister, that it was NATO, the United States in other words, that prevented a truce from being signed between Russia and Ukraine last year. As Joe Biden said that, a lie, Mitch McConnell clapped and smiled, wearing his Ukraine flag tie. But maybe the most egregious lie is one that affects every American. Biden claimed that our economy could not be doing better because he’s an economic wizard.”

This Chinese spy balloon thing is pure absurdity

Do you remember during the Trump administration when photographers on the ground and commercial airline pilots were talking about a spy balloon over the United States that people could look up and see even with the naked eye, and that a media that hated Donald Trump wasn’t reporting? I don’t remember that, either, because it didn’t happen.

Published

on

Of course we don’t need Tucker to tell us that, but here’s his take on the Biden administration’s response to a Chinese military aircraft casually floating over the entire United States. And, as we’ve come to expect from the liberal media’s track record, Trumpety-Trump-Trump-Trump on a Trump cracker with Trump sauce. Highlights include:

“By last Wednesday, February 1, it was spotted by civilians in the skies over southern Montana. A man staring out of of the window of an office building in Billings saw what he thought was a UFO. It was too small to be a moon, he said, and so he began to take pictures, which soon appeared on social media, and then almost immediately the airspace over Billings, over the entire town was shut down.

So it was at this point, when the existence of an unauthorized Chinese military aircraft over the continental United States became impossible to hide or deny, at that point, officials around Joe Biden finally decided to tell him about it. Now, we don’t know Joe Biden’s reaction to this news, but we do know his response. Biden did nothing.”

“So, the balloon shut down the airspace over Billings, Montana, including the airport, and as it moved east, commercial pilots said they were afraid of it, they were afraid of hitting it, so it’s funny to see the transportation secretary who’s in charge of all of this tell us it posed no threat … no threat to transportation. But the best is the dismissal of anyone who has concerns. It’s the Republicans again with their moonshine and their shotguns and extra chromosomes, thinking it’s okay to shoot down Chinese spy balloons, when every sophisticated person knows, Donald Trump himself knew, the best way to handle Chinese spy balloons, let them pass.”

“’Do you remember during the Trump administration when photographers on the ground and commercial airline pilots were talking about a spy balloon over the United States that people could look up and see even with the naked eye, and that a media that hated Donald Trump wasn’t reporting? I don’t remember that, either, because it didn’t happen.’ It didn’t happen, said the former Director of National Intelligence, and you can see why he thinks that.”

“Speaking on background to its shills in the media, unnamed officials explained that these Chinese spy flights were actually never reported to President Trump, or the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, or even to the secretary of defense. Why weren’t they reported? Because they weren’t important enough. They were ‘relatively minor territorial incursions’. Okay, so a Chinese military aircraft hovering over Texas, more than 1000 miles from the Pacific Ocean, is a ‘minor territorial incursion’… That’s what they said. It’s pure absurdity.”

“So, once again, the people who owe you the truth are lying to you, so all tonight we know for certainty is that the Chinese military just flew an aircraft that reportedly contained explosives over the entire length of the United States and got away with it. That seems like a bad precedent.”
