Tucker: This is an attack on your autonomy

Banning the gas engine is, among many other things, is an attack on your autonomy.

Why are politicians insisting you switch to electric vehicles when one flight on their private jets puts out more emissions than your car does in several months? Tucker takes a look. Highlights include:

“On April 24 of last year the state of California finally achieved what the Green movement has dreamt about for decades, it happened. The State Energy Authority in California was able to generate 95% of its total power from entirely renewable sources. They said it couldn’t be done, we said it couldn’t be done, but just months into the Joe Biden administration, California did it.”

“It’s a moment that will live alongside Thomas Edison’s invention of the incandescent light bulb, alongside Neil Armstrong’s stroll on the surface of the moon. It is s day we saw a glimpse of humanity’s future. That’s what the news accounts told us, but actually there were some caveats to this achievement. For starters, April is not the time to test a power grid, it’s the most temperate month of the year when electricity use is at its lowest. Nor was the grid in question statewide, it didn’t, for example, supply power to Los Angeles, which is by far the biggest city in California. And now that we’re being honest, it wasn’t entirely renewable. As the LA Times conceded…the state of California was actually also burning a bunch of natural gas.”

“The green energy miracle that sent chills down the spines of California power executives, the event they described as ‘amazing’ lasted for a total of, can you guess? Four seconds. Not days or hours, seconds. Four seconds. That’s what California politicians were bragging about. Four seconds of not actually renewable energy. But the celebration obscured an inconvenient fact. Just a few months earlier, in mid August, California’s green energy grid had collapsed completely.”

“The problem did not improve. In fact, it got worse. The California Energy Commission has just issued a report predicting widespread power outages in the state of California for the next five years, at least, and of course September will always be the worst month. As the vice chairman of the commission put it, ‘Securing energy reliability is a tremendous responsibility. The responsibility is becoming increasingly difficult to fulfill with the tools we have in hand.’”

“The instinct behind all of this is, of course, totalitarian, which is to say total control over you, and banning the gas engine is, among many other things, an attack on your autonomy. Electric vehicles can be, above all, controlled by the people who control the grid. And that means the next time that California’s energy regulator decides to shut off the power, you can’t go anywhere. You can’t leave California.”

“It’s not just California. It’s not just happening there. It’s also happening in more reasonable places like Virginia. Law in Virginia currently requires gasoline engines, gasoline cars to be phased out by 2035, which is pretty soon. In all, 15 states have supported California’s plan to force ‘zero emission’ vehicles, none of which are zero emission, they’re just electric and can therefore be controlled by the energy grid and the regulators who oversee it. And it’s not just 15 states, it’s the federal government. According to the Biden administration, everybody will be required to drive an electric car by 2035.”

“Another cascade of unemployable morons, every one of whom has a long track record of failure, not one of whom has ever done anything in the real world, all of whom giving you a moral lecture about how your car is destroying the planet when they’re flying private. How long is the country going to put up with this?”

Tucker: We’re Back.

At the most basic level, the news you consume is a lie, a lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind. Facts have been withheld on purpose, along with proportion and perspective. You are being manipulated.

Tucker again lays into the media propaganda machine as he announces he’s taking the show to Twitter. Highlights include:

“You often hear people say that news is full of lies, but most of the time, that’s not exactly right. Much of what you see on television or read in the New York Times is, in fact, true in the ‘literal’ sense, it could pass one of the media’s own ‘fact checks.’ Lawyers would be willing to sign off on it, in fact they may have. But that doesn’t make it true. It’s not true.”

“At the most basic level, the news you consume is a lie, a lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind. Facts have been withheld on purpose, along with proportion and perspective. You are being manipulated.”

“The best you can hope for in the news business at this point is the freedom to tell the fullest truth that you can, but there are always limits, and you know that if you bump up against those limits often enough, you will be fired for it. That’s not a guess, it’s guaranteed. Every person who works in the English language media understands that. The rule of what you can’t say defines everything. It’s filthy, really, and it’s utterly corrupting.”

“For the most part, the news that you see analyzed on Twitter comes from media organizations that are themselves thinly disguised propaganda outlets. You see it on cable news, you talk about it on Twitter. The result may feel like a debate, but actually the gatekeepers are still in charge. We think that’s a bad system. We know exactly how it works, and we’re sick of it.”

Tucker: See you soon

When honest people say what’s true calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful. At the same time, the liars who’ve been trying to silence them shrink.

Oh gosh, I’m using Twitter. Tucker dropped a video today on his Twitter account, again commenting on the current state of US media and finishing with a hopeful “See you soon.” Highlights include:

“One of the first things you realize when you step outside the noise for a few days is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country, kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true, and a bunch of hilarious people also, a lot of those, it’s gotta be the majority of the population, even now, so that’s heartening. The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are…”

“Both political parties and their donors have reached consensus on what benefits them and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it. Suddenly, the United States looks very much like a one party state. That’s a depressing realization, but it’s not permanent. Our current orthodoxies won’t last. They’re brain dead.”

“This moment is too inherently ridiculous to continue, and so it won’t. The people in charge know this, that’s why they’re hysterical and aggressive. They’re afraid. They’ve given up persuasion, they’re resorting to force. But it won’t work. When honest people say what’s true calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful. At the same time, the liars who’ve been trying to silence them shrink, and they become weaker. That’s the iron law of the universe, true things prevail.”
