Tech Tools Leading to Our Fast-Forward Future

Researchers will likely develop nearly every tech tool you’ve seen in science-fiction movies and television

Published

on

Lowell Catlett, a retired professor in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business, observes that all the high tech products on your desk and in your home will soon be antiques from a capability stand point. The almighty chip grows smaller and more powerful, and thanks to advanced microscopics, they’re proceeding towards a time in which the chip will be no thicker than a fraction of a human hair. In fact, microscopic motors today are no thicker than a human hair!

A World of Marvels

Scientists and engineers will likely soon develop nearly every technology you’ve ever seen in sci-fi movies, Superman comics, and all of the versions of Star Trek. Many miraculous breakthroughs are available now, but simply are not cost-effective for the masses. Existing sunglasses – far beyond the ill-fated Google Glass – allow you to watch any television show while you’re wearing them, wherever you are.

As “sun glass” technology is perfected, future models can be built right into your eye. You’ll automatically have protection from sun glare as daylight levels change. Laser technology in sunglasses for U.S. Air Force pilots will enable them to fire missiles or operate plane controls through their eye movements!

Professor Catlett says, “Once you combine laser and computer technology, you’re able to read smart books – books that know when you’ve lingered on a word and hence, don’t understand its meaning.” So, then and there, while you’ve got your magic sunglasses on and are reading this book, a synonym pops up on the screen.

Instant Updates

Well-funded fire and police departments will equip each of their officers with such sunglasses to instantaneously give them updated information in the field. A firefighter entering a burning building could be told to turn left to safety, rather than right. A police officer could be told that the bridge is out 50 yards ahead and to take a hard right into the sandbank.

One day, politicians will be fitted with such technology. A new algorithm for identifying thumb prints, ten times faster than what currently exists, is nearly ready. Hence, about 30 seconds after you look at someone across a room his name will spell out in the corner of one of your lenses. No more forgetting old what’s-his-name.

Every sales force worth its salt will be outfitted with such lenses. Imagine, you walk into a new company, you don’t know a soul, and soon enough you’re greeting everyone by his/her first name. Until the technology is widely known, you’ll be regarded as some type of wizard.

Think Your Way Through It

The electronic headband, an emerging product, allows you to think your way to everything you want to do in your home. Sitting in your armchair, you’ll be able to lock the doors. You’ll be able to start your coffee maker. Want the television on or off? You’ve got it. Same with the lights. Refrigerator door. Windows up or down.

If you want to write a letter to your sister in Des Moines, you’ll only need to think the letter. You’ll be able to “program” your personal computer, write, and e-mail the message simply through your thoughts.

Soon, jet pilots flying billion dollar planes will be able to sit in the cockpit, think about what they want to do next, and have the plane be totally responsive. “Ultimately,” says Catlett, “machinery will be totally user-friendly. No instructions, no need to speak, no need to do anything, just think what you want to do.”

The Ubiquitous Computer

The world will enter a stage of the “ubiquitous computer.” Computers will be all around you, anywhere you go, built into the side of walls. They’ll be so powerful and all encompassing that they’ll be virtually invisible.

America is in decline because voters asked for it

Published

on

American voters have placed in office many people whose allegiance is to woke ideology instead of the public good. In many cases, these elected officials support policies that clearly are harmful to their constituents and to the nation.

Why would anyone knowingly vote for politicians who embrace policies that cause great harm? New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg is a case in point. DA Bragg doesn’t like to prosecute felons. Instead, bad actors are released immediately without bail. Bragg is not an accident. New Yorkers elected him.

President Joe Biden has allowed millions of unvetted immigrants to enter the country causing untold disruption in our cities and the threat of terrorism. Instead of deporting people who violate federal law by coming into the US illegally, we give them free rent, free food, free cell phones, free credit cards, free medical care, free child care. The same president has destroyed our energy independence, caused runaway inflation, and undermined our military readiness. Despite these misdeeds, millions of voters claim he is doing a good job and want him to run again in 2024.

Biden is using the legal system against his Republican adversary, Donald Trump, to deny him the right of due process, to confiscate his wealth, and to impose a lengthy jail sentence. “The law is being used to punish people you don’t like politically,” said Sean Hannity. Yet millions of voters continue to support Joe Biden.

These outrageous situations can be chalked up to an unconscious electorate. They voted for all these problems. The people of New York City are fed up with mounting crime. Yet they voted for Alvin Bragg, who is contributing to the crime problem by refusing to put offenders behind bars.

I am not describing a stupid electorate. Many of the voters who elect unfit politicians are highly educated. Mark Levin explains this phenomenon in American Marxism. He addresses the question that has stumped me for years: Why is it that so many intelligent, well-educated, affluent people in urban centers like New York and San Francisco have been seduced by the Left? Levin’s answer: “They are lured by the false hopes and promises of urban transformation and the criticisms of the existing society.”

When it comes to politics, many of our citizens have a myopic, under-informed viewpoint. They see themselves as compassionate people who want to help the disadvantaged. If they are white, they have been told that the white patriarchy oppresses blacks and other minorities. As a result, they may feel guilty about their own success. When it comes to immigration, they want to open our doors to anyone who wants to enter the country. Why? Because people in other parts of the world are suffering and liberals believe that we have a moral duty to help them.

What they are missing is that leftist policies have consequences. Bringing in millions of Stone Age people from the Middle East, for example, makes the US vulnerable to the disruption and violence that are tearing Europe apart.

An excellent analogy can be found in the game of chess. Amateur players look at the chessboard and only perceive the board as it exists right in front of them. They neither understand nor take responsibility for the consequences of their moves. Experienced chess players can see the board three to four moves ahead. They are aware that whatever move they make will entail consequences.

We have millions of American voters who resemble amateur chess players. They are completely oblivious to the consequences of their political choices. That is why California has turned from a garden in to a hellhole. The liberals who run the legislature in Sacramento are falling all over each other in the rush to provide free healthcare, free education, and welfare payments to illegal immigrants. But what about the consequences? Who will pay for all the freebies? What will happen to civil order and public safety when the government is no longer able to maintain the rule of law? No one wants to take responsibility for the unpleasant consequences of the leftist agenda.

Voting is no longer looked upon as a responsibility. “Elections are not held just for social participation,” said economist Thomas Sowell. “They’re not held just to vet our emotions. They’re held to elect people who will hold our lives and the lives of our loved ones in their hands, as well as the fate of the entire nation. To go out as if we’re voting for homecoming queen is madness!”

Sowell has suggested that for people who refuse to take the time to study the issues and candidates, “their most patriotic act would be to stay home on election day, rather than vote on the basis of their whims or their emotions, which is really playing Russian roulette with the history of the country.”

More than anything, we need informed voters who can opt for responsible candidates.

The Stalinist Vendetta Against Donald Trump

Published

on

Whenever the Democrats are in power, they destroy everything they get their hands on. As Deroy Murdock said in the New York Post, Democrats are “wreaking havoc, division, and devastation.” No one exemplifies this better, or should I say worse, than New York State Attorney General Letitia James, a deranged racist who has achieved notoriety by basing her political career on an outlandish campaign to get Donald Trump.

Ms. James gives fiery speeches in which she accuses Trump of every conceivable wrongdoing under the sun. Her words and behavior reek of uncontrollable anger. James is unabashedly racist and sexist. The country is “too male, too pale, and too stale,” she said, exposing her dislike of men and white people.

James’ behavior, by itself, is not unusual for those afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome. What makes James a standout is that she has used her office to bring Trump to within a hair’s breadth of financial and political ruin. “This is a variation of Stalin and Beria in the 1930s,” said attorney Alan Dershowitz, “when the head of the KGB says to Stalin, ‘Show me the man, I’ll find you the crime.’ This is show me the man—Donald Trump—and we’ll find you the fraud even if there was no harm.”

The absurdity of Ms. James’ fraud case against Trump is that there is no crime and no victim. No one has been harmed. It is a weaponization of the legal system for political ends. As Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary has observed, what Trump is alleged to have done—overvalued his real estate properties when applying for a bank loan—is normal business practice all over the globe. The bank made money and is anxious to do business with him again.

Obviously, Ms. James has no knowledge of what goes on in the real world. All she cares about is taking down a former president. “Is there anybody out there who believes that this case would have been brought if Donald Trump were not the leading candidate to run against Joe Biden?” said Alan Dershowitz. “This is selective prosecution and it’s wrong.”

James managed to find a judge who is crazy enough to hit Trump with a whopping $460-million fine, an amount greater than the gross national product of some countries. “The damages, like the judge, are daft and asinine,” said news commentator Gregg Jarrett. “Judge Engoron wore his anti-Trump bias on his sleeve, arrogant, smug, obtuse.” Mark Levin reminds us that the damages are in violation of the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition of unreasonable fines and punishments. Hopefully Judge Engoron’s judgment will be reversed on appeal.

James doesn’t seem to care that she is destroying New York’s business future in the bargain.  Her case means that New York’s legal and financial integrity are shattered. “Capital comes to America because of the stability of the justice system,” said Kevin O’Leary. “Seizing assets is what happens in Venezuela. It doesn’t happen in New York.” Prominent investors have already signaled their intent to stop doing business in the city.

“If this decision stands,” said Trump attorney Alina Habba, “it will serve as a signal to every single American that New York is no longer open for business.” None of that matters to James, who is delighted to turn our nation into a banana republic. “The Democrats are at a no-holds-barred time to unleash everything on Trump no matter how much we undermine the rule of law,” said writer Doug TenNapel. “They’re going for broke because they’re going to lose everything if Trump wins.”

“They hate Trump, they can’t stand the guy,” said Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business. “They want to stop him from becoming president again and they’re gonna stoop to whatever level it takes.”

The irony is that James’ assault may push Trump over the top. Many Trump critics are defending him against the Democrats in response to James’ fraud case. By the way, when Trump is elected, he will make all that money back.

What have we learned from this? That someone with Trump’s extraordinary accomplishments can be brought down by such a vile and inconsequential person as Letitia James. But Trump is a survivor. I’m looking forward to James’ reaction when Trump wins the election in November. As her head explodes, we will discover there is nothing inside but anger and vindictiveness.
