Follow the Fear

Published

on

Today’s dominant societal trend appears to be “Be afraid, be very afraid, and restrict your life accordingly.”

If you want people to give you control over them then you need to assure that they are so afraid that they will suspend rational thought in order to be saved by you. Convince them that they don’t know enough to make their own decisions. Show them how vulnerable they are without your protection. Then put restrictions in place to give you ongoing control over them. That’s what’s going on in our country today.

In order to control people, you need them to agree to being controlled and it’s even better if you make them think that they are controlling themselves and that, regardless of criticism they may receive, they are justified in doing what you want. You must demonize any voices to the contrary. If a news source or trusted person disagrees, then you must destroy their credibility and make it cool to reject them, like Obama did with Fox News while he was president. That caused people to dismiss anything that was reported by Fox, without even considering it.

Control by Force
Control by force gains “agreement” by making the punishment more fearsome than compliance would be. As long as you hold the whip and they fear it, you get to stay in charge. But, if they decide that the whipping is worth the fight for freedom, then you have a major problem. Your threat no longer generates compliance. When oppressed people rise up despite their fears, a revolution is imminent.

Nature gets this
Weaker animals of all types, including humans, look for weaknesses that they can exploit when confronting a greater adversary. If you’re a wildebeest being dragged into the water by a crocodile, then you fight to stay on dry land where you have a small advantage. If you are a small child being bullied, then you attempt to stay in a public place where the abuse cannot be concealed and where others might step in to help.
The same is true for predators, you look for the weakest spot and attack that. If your first attack doesn’t prevail, then you seek to injure your prey repeatedly until you have dominance. Wolves isolate the weakest elk and then bite its legs so that it cannot flee. They don’t do a head-on confrontation with their prey.

Also true in politics
If your party isn’t in control, then you isolate and target weaknesses in order to regain power. Once you are in power, assuming you are power-hungry, then you change the rules so that you can stay in power. This is blatantly going on in the USA today.
Democrats have all the major seats of power, but rather than serving the people, they seem committed to changing the rules and fueling our fears most of all. That’s their strategy for staying in power indefinitely. And it is working.

One major reason that it is working is because they control the media. When the news sources become opinion-makers and propaganda tools, then the populace sees no reason to resist you. Just show them a series of images and interviews that have conclusions already drawn and soon everyone assumes it’s the truth and the only right way to see things. Example: George Floyd’s death and martyrdom.

George Floyd was wrongly killed by Derek Chauvin.

We saw it on camera and heard the verdicts of guilt. His death was not justified and should not have happened. There’s no disagreement with that.

Now let’s look at who George Floyd was. He was imprisoned 9 times for a variety of crimes. His criminal behavior was sustained for decades. He had not been a good guy at any measurable point. He broke into a woman’s home and held a gun to her pregnant stomach. He carjacked a woman’s vehicle and then told the judge, “I needed the car, and she was wrong to resist me.” His father sat in the courtroom shaking his head in shame upon hearing this. But you won’t hear this on the news. In fact, if you watched the CBS special report on the Chauvin trial verdict, you saw a very different message. They implied that Floyd was an oppressed soul who was trying to get his life together again. No evidence supports that.

Again, his death was tragic, and he should not have been abused as he was. But that doesn’t justify making him a martyr who has a plaza named after him, legislation dedicated in his name, and national leaders, including the president and vice president mourning his death publicly while ignoring the deaths of others including police.

Fuel the Fear during key moments
This slick CBS news feature had clearly been prepackaged awaiting the outcome. I’m sure much sensational footage was edited out because of the 3 guilty verdicts. But the program pre-empted regular prime time programs and featured dramatic replays of the knee-on-the-neck video and then doubled down on fearmongering by showing the Rodney King beating from decades ago. The message, repeated and reinforced by interviewing the families of King and Floyd, was: “Racism and dangerous cops are systemic in society and we need even more support of the angry mobs in order to change the system. We need more government regulations and agencies, more required diversity education programs and funding to assure that racism is rooted out at the thought level!” And now they are threatening to riot again if the sentencing doesn’t please them.

Granted, this was international news, because the media had made it so. Other murder trials go on day to day without so much as a public mention. But this one was special because it had gotten thousands of postings worldwide. Why? Because it served the leftist message that racism is systemic, and more controls are needed. If they can’t make you afraid then they can’t get you to agree to more rules, agencies, and controls.

OK, let’s switch bogeymen to another big one, Covid 19.

This shut down has been the most effective global fear inducement since the Black Plague! Masks are required worldwide, people are hiding in their homes, terrified of normal human contact. School kids are terrified, teachers are refusing to return to class, stores are shut down, 6 foot spacing is required everywhere and they tell us “follow the science.” But science doesn’t recommend these actions. In fact, the 6-foot spacing was a tactic used in the 1918 Flu epidemic that had no basis in research. Many doctors today are saying 3 feet is plenty or just don’t touch.

When you enter a retail store the staff looks at you as a threat, not as a friend. They yell out, “Wear a mask please!” People are taught to shame others who don’t wear masks and accuse them of assault. It really does cause us to stay afraid, but where is the science that says this is effective? It doesn’t exist.

Actually Follow The Science
Note the following science-based report published this past week on a variety of sites.

The following excerpt is from a report authored by JD Rucker and published in the “From NOQ Report” (News, Opinions, Quotes) by JD Rucker April 17, 2021 in Big Tech, Healthcare, News, Science

April 17, 2021
Stanford study quietly published at NIH.gov proves face masks are absolutely worthless against Covid
Did you hear about the peer-reviewed study done by Stanford University that demonstrates beyond a reasonable doubt that face masks have absolutely zero chance of preventing the spread of Covid-19? … It was posted on the National Center for Biotechnological Information government website. The NCBI is a branch of the National Institute for Health, … features a peer-reviewed study by Stanford University’s Baruch Vainshelboim. In it, he cited 67 scholars, doctors, scientists, and other studies to support his conclusions.

According to the current knowledge, the virus SARS-CoV-2 has a diameter of 60 nm to 140 nm [nanometers (billionth of a meter)] [16], [17], while medical and non-medical facemasks’ thread diameter ranges from 55 µm to 440 µm [micrometers (one millionth of a meter), which is more than 1000 times larger [25]. Due to the difference in sizes between SARS-CoV-2 diameter and facemasks thread diameter (the virus is 1000 times smaller), SARS-CoV-2 can easily pass through any facemask.
Conclusion
The existing scientific evidences challenge the safety and efficacy of wearing facemask as preventive intervention for COVID-19. The data suggest that both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to block human-to-human transmission of viral and infectious disease such SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, supporting against the usage of facemasks. Wearing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. Long-term consequences of wearing facemask can cause health deterioration, developing and progression of chronic diseases and premature death. Governments, policy makers and health organizations should utilize prosper and scientific evidence-based approach with respect to wearing facemasks, when the latter is considered as preventive intervention for public health.

So, we are back to the main issue, Fear.
What are you afraid of? Covid19, BLM riots, being called a “racist”, or maybe disapproval by others who haven’t taken time to think things through? It doesn’t matter what you fear, what’s important to the leftists is the fact that you fear. Fear is the goal. As long as you believe they will save you if you just obey, then they are in control and your future no longer belongs to you.
Courage is being afraid and still taking bold action despite your fear. Take time to think and be courageous. Be courageous, be very courageous, and expand your life accordingly.

BBQs Cook Fish, Too – Beware the Weber, Traeger IPOs

BBQ company insiders are trying to put all you fish directly onto hot coals via their IPOs.

Published

on

BBQ Fail

As we all know, Covid-19 policies have created an interesting array of winners and losers. Restaurants, travel and mall-based retail? Wah, wah. Meanwhile, any company remotely tied to housing, remodeling or recreation has been on absolute fire.

So what if your traditionally slow-growth, low-margin business suddenly had its best year ever by a wide margin? You’d probably think very seriously about trying to sell it.

That is exactly what is happening with the spate of BBQ-related IPOs that are about to pour onto this market.

Are the upcoming initial public offerings of Traeger Pellet Grills and Weber good ideas for your investment portfolio? Be very careful.

First, it’s highly likely they’ve taken the route of public markets because they have nowhere else to go. Truly, who is Traeger’s logical acquirer? In a bygone era, Sears might have represented a possible exit but such buyers no longer exist. Maybe one of the few large competitors in this highly-fragmented industry like Weber? Whoops – they’re going public, too!

Focusing on Weber, what a story they seem to have on their hands, being able to claim 6-month revenue growth rates of over 60%! Wow!

Problem is, IBIS says annual growth of the bbq industry over the last 5 years averaged 4.7%, which means Weber caught lightning in a bottle thanks to this pandemic and they’re trying to cash in. Same with Traeger.

Unfair assessment, you say? Then why are roughly 2/3 of Traeger’s IPO shares being sold by insiders? That’s right, only 1/3 of this offering is to raise working capital for the company. The rest is insiders cashing out.

Hey, I’ll be the first to admit that Traeger grills are pretty cool. And these are familiar names so they may catch a bid based on that familiarity for a while, particularly if this housing market keeps steaming ahead. But by no means are these 10-year investments. If you just can’t help yourself and absolutely have to play with these shares, think more in terms of 10 weeks. Or 10 days.

Truly, how much longer can the explosive growth in our world of economic distortions last? Regardless, is there any way companies like this are going to keep posting 50%+ growth numbers? Pfffffffff.

Heck, as recently as 2019, Weber’s y-o-y revenues declined by 3%. That’s the nature of this industry – a little growth here, a little step back there… slow, stodgy, boring.

Even in Weber’s bounce back year of 2020, when revenues rebounded 15% compared to the prior full year? They made a paltry $88 million on $1.5 billion in revenues. Those are grocery store margins.

Yet despite this industry’s historically slow growth and non-existent margins, Weber’s market cap at IPO next week will be roughly $5 billion, meaning the shares will trade with a P/E of close to 60 like they’re some high-flying tech unicorn! Truly amazing stuff, but par for the course in today’s everything bubble.

As an aside, by the way, don’t even think about looking elsewhere in this sector, like to VELO and its recent announcement that the SPAC is taking BBQ Guys public. Does anyone recall what happened to BBQ retailers in the last economic downturn? If the phrase, “buh-bye,” doesn’t come to mind, you simply weren’t paying attention.

Make no mistake, all these BBQ industry IPOs are ‘greater fool’ investments at their finest. Sorry, but you’re the dumb money the insiders and their private equity backers are asking to buy their shares after one-time growth surges that probably surpassed even their wildest imaginations.

There’s an old saying in poker: if you look around the table and can’t figure out who the fish is, you’re the fish.

In this case, the BBQ company insiders are trying to put all you fish directly on their hot coals.

No, thanks. I’ll have a salad this time instead.

P.S. Yes, this is a new pen name but you probably know me. I’ve a new Twitter profile, too… please consider giving me a follow their and we’ll get this train rolling.

People are Getting Sick of Dr. Anthony Fauci

Published

on

The media likes portray Dr. Fauci as a good Dr. whose only concern is the health and safety of a nation. A Norman Rockwell picture emerges of a concerned, white coated Fauci wielding a tongue depressor into a young boy. This view is enforced by the lack of dissent by the medical community to his varied and sometimes contradictory recommendations. To make sure that he is foremost in the public’s eye he made 354 public appearances on TV, radio, and online. He pitched the first ball for the Washington Nationals. He was on the cover of People, Time, Brooklyn and In style magazines.

What we are being sold is a Walt Disney version of the pandemic raging in the halls of government. Too many entrenched bureaucrats that seem to have a teacher’s tenure against firing for incompetence.  So who is this Anthony Fauci? First of all he is not a doctor in the traditional sense. He is trained and spent his career not in any type of practice but as a clinical physiologist. In layman’s terms he studies the causes and effects of different types of testing and treatments on a multitude of diseases. Anthony is also the highest paid federal employee in the nation. In 2020 he took home a grand total of $434,000.00. He is also one of the very few clinical physiologist much less MD’s that employs both a security detail and a publicity agent.

Anyone who is paid so much, receives so many accolades must be good for something. Since he was appointed by Ronald Regan and has been in the same position for 37 years. Dr. Fauci is responsible for doling out billions in taxpayer funds for research. There must be a history of good works and outstanding recommendations. His first test in his role as director of the National institute of allergies and infectious diseases (NIAID) was the AIDs crisis.

In 1983 the good doctor wrote an article in the Journal for American Medicine regarding a theory that Aids could be spread by casual contact based upon a baby born with AIDS. The press ran with it and suddenly AIDs wasn’t only a gay man’s disease. It could be caught anywhere from door knobs to toilets seats. In the ensuing panic the NIAID budget was substantially increased, as well as billions from the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation and Clinton Foundation.  No one thought to question whether the mother had AIDS to begin with. For such a stunning misdirection Anthony was promoted to Director of the NIAID.

By 1984 in a move described as “Science by press conference” an employee of Fauci, a Dr. Robert Gallo announced he had discovered the AIDS virus and it was the “Public health threat of the century”. Dr. Gallo coincidentally also discovered a way to test for the AIDS virus he “discovered”, and went on to make millions from the test despite the large number of false positives the testing produced. In response to this public health threat some good Doctors came forward to report the promising results from using a drug called Bactrim. This drug had been in use for a decade to treat immune compromised individuals like children with Leukemia. Dr. Fauci went on to discourage its use in favor of ATZ which cost upwards of $8,000 a shot. It all worked out to be a win win for everyone except Aids patients.

By 2014 another crisis was needed to refill the coffers of the NIAID, along comes Ebola. Despite the fact that the fatality rate for Ebola is somewhere 50% to 65% of those that are infected the good Dr. admonished governors and mayors that wanted to lock down their towns and cities to stop the spread. He even went so far as to rally against isolating returning health care workers from infected areas until they were deemed safe. He did heartily approve sending our troops to Africa to help with humanitarian aid to developing countries fight the Ebola Virus.

After what in his mind was successfully and profitably fight off several infections in his career he needed a new more deadly disease to cap off his long career. He began to direct tax dollars towards gain of function research in the United States. When word got out it was the study of making dangerous animal diseases jump to humans President Obama made a show of stopping “new” research in the states. Our good doctor then proceeded to enlist his good friend Peter Daszak to forward a government grant thru his NGO, ECO Health Alliance, to the labs in Wuhan China. Dr. Fauci felt it was important for science. (Peter has since been thrown off the UN backed Conovirus probe) The good doctor then resisted Trump’s attempts to cancel all funding to ECO Health.

It is now common knowledge from his e-mails that Dr. Fauci believed one set of facts but mislead the public with an opposite set of directives. Everything from lock downs, to one mask two masks, to two weeks to flatten the curve. He even tried to discourage and discredit the use of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and Azithromycin (AZM) in favor of the more costly vaccine.

Why were we being treated like lab rats in Anthony’s personal laboratory? Why is the only way to our reward, our freedom, blocked and we must follow the Doctor’s Orders. You can go to Walmart but not a local store. You must take the jab but not HCQ, or AZM. You can’t go to church or vote but you can protest. Since the good doctor is a Clinical physiologist studying the causes and effect of different treatments maybe the disease he is trying to eradicate is not conovirus, but democracy. If the disease you are fighting is democracy what better way to flatten the curve than by taking away our freedoms. Quarantine us from our God given rights and isolate us from each other so as not to question the narrative. Make the general population to afraid to question authority, because the science it settled, Dr. Fauci said so.
