It was one of those potential myths that lingered on and on. It simply would not go away. As the story goes, the U.S. women’s national soccer team lost a soccer match to a group of under 15-year-old boys. Could it be true?

It Certainly Did Happen

It wasn’t easy for most people to authenticate since traditional sports media didn’t cover the game. On November 9th of this year, however, Carli Lloyd, one of the mainstays of the U.S. women’s soccer team, confirmed that it was true. She said the game occurred in April of 2017, two years before the U.S. women’s team won its second straight World Cup. The score was 5 to 2.

The opposing team comprised boys on FC Dallas – “FC” stands for “football club.” The contest was considered only a practice game. There had been some reporting on the game as it occurred but it generally went under the radar.

The Daily Mail, published in the United Kingdom, ran an extensive piece on it, but for some reason, the story didn’t circulate to the degree that one might presume.

The Implications

Let us unpack exactly what it means when the U.S. women’s national team loses to 12, 13, and 14-year-old boys, even in a practice game.

Each and every one of the members of the women’s team, that year or any year,  has already graduated from college. This means that they are at least 21 years old. That particular team, in 2017, had veteran players, including Carli Lloyd, the perpetually annoying Megan Rapinoe, Abby Wambach, and many others who were well past age 25 and in some cases, past age 30, at the peak of their strength and fitness.

As such, these adult professional soccer players, representing some of the finest female athletes in the world, were twice the age of the young teenagers from Dallas. If this isn’t the best argument ever for keeping individuals who are born as males but transition to females out of women’s soccer, as well as sports in general, I don’t know what is.

Fittingly, No Shame

It was no fluke: the young boys played their typically masterful game and there was no shame that these women lost to them. Indeed, the women had a spectacular run for the rest of that year and throughout the World Cup matches that soon followed.

None of them felt humbled or somehow less than deserving to be proclaimed and honored as female soccer stars.

Flash forward to today, 6 1⁄2 years later, where legions of Leftists proclaim that it’s perfectly okay for people born as males to transition and enter women’s sports. Now imagine three or four of these young boys from Dallas deciding that they want to be girls. Would they not immediately dominate the sport?

Imagine that the whole team decided that they wanted to be girls. They could overtake the U.S. women’s national team and every other national team worldwide.

Exceedingly Clear    

In a nutshell, let men play men’s sports, let women play women’s sports, and figure out a way to allow transgender athletes to compete against other transgender athletes.

Do not, however, lump them into women’s sports because it is blatantly unfair. It deprives females who have striven to excel in sports, in some cases for their whole lives, and to compete at the highest levels.

Whether it’s tennis, cycling, rowing, swimming, or playing any team sport, which almost always involves some type of ball, wrestling, weightlifting, skating, skiing, or track and field events, biological female athletes must be protected and must be allowed to compete against those who share the exact origins, anything less is a sham and puts females in danger.

The Denial of Objective Reality

Why does the Left so vehemently encourage intrusions into women’s sports? Why do they so vigorously want to convince 8-year-olds to be unsure which gender they should ‘choose’?

One explanation, which has been posited by those who follow the Left and the transgender movement closely, is that the Left seeks to upend all notions of objective reality. If they induce enough young people to be confused about whether they should be boys or girls, ensure that there is nothing that you can count on in life, and proclaim that biology is fluid, you set up a generation that can be led in any direction you want now and forevermore. Power is the Left’s ultimate goal: unrelenting power far into the future over a compliant populace.
